Hi everybody, my name is Brenda. And I moved from Boston to San Francisco via Amtrak solo during the pandemic.

Copenhagen is notorious for being an expensive city in Europe. I spontaneously booked this trip a month prior to departure, and only had so much money to spend. I challenged myself to spend a total under $1000 USD while still indulging and enjoying my time (and not resorting to eating microwave food).

Sometimes, we just want to get away, and I had the opportunity to do exactly that with Getaway House. Driving to just outside of Boston, I spent a weekend being “one with nature” as I unplugged (as much as possible), cooked, relaxed, and hung out by the campfire.

My first solo trip abroad  didn’t quite go as planned. Regardless, I made new friends along the way, and learned a valuable lesson while learning more about myself as an individual.

A sister adventure in Iceland and how we happily survived a road trip along the Golden Circle together. Adventures of catching waterfalls,  trekking over glaciers and relaxing in the Blue Lagoon are memories only two hungry, wandering sisters can share.

Los Angeles meant the end of the road trip. With an evening, a full day, and a half day to spend in the city, there was only so much time to show my cousin where to eat and wander for her first time in SoCal.

What is a west coast road trip without driving down Highway One? From McWay Falls to a detour on Nacimiento Road, we had our second-to-last destination of Madonna Inn before the last leg of our road trip.

Only a day and a half in San Francisco and a brief stopover in San Jose? This was certainly not enough time to enjoy the Bay Area, but we’ll take what we can get.

During my time in San Francisco, I partnered with Kimpton Hotels and stayed at their location in Union Square: Sir Francis Drake Hotel. This location was perfect for the day and a half I stayed in the Bay Area.

From Portland to San Francisco with a pit stop at the Redwoods, and a Red Scion tailing us for miles and miles on end. What else could happen during our fifteen hours of being on the road?

With a rainy arrival into Oregon and only a day and a half to spend in Portland, there was only so much time to wander the streets searching for street art while eating around the city.

Mount Rainier: the stopover between the first two major cities of the west coast road trip. We left Seattle in the morning to head to Portland, but before we crossed over to the next state, it was time to stretch our legs and breathe in the fresh air that was Mount Rainier.

Seattle: the first destination of the adventure down the west coast. Spending two full days reunited with friends, here is a recap of being tourists, acting like locals, and soaking up the rare Seattle sunshine.

Is it possible to drink around the world in Epcot? One day. Two people. Six Hours. Eleven countries. Twenty-four drinks. Challenge accepted.
